So I was thinking about this when I was finishing up my last post. I think I have decided not to have the testing done to see if Jared and I would produce an 'ill' baby. I don't want to have an amniocentesis...whatever it's called. I believe that God will give us the most precious gift in the world, and I have faith that He will be keeping the baby safe in the way that He sees fit. Jared and I would never terminate the pregnancy due to a disease or defect. I love modern technology and know that we will be and have already taken advantage of what it has to offer, but I think I will forgo this testing. Knowing or not knowing what my baby might be before hand will never prepare us for what anything in our lives will be like in the future. The information on a piece of paper is just that, information on a piece of paper. God will give us the gift of life and we will treasure whatever that may be. We will get ultrasounds and make sure everything looks okay visually, but I won't be doing the extra testing. Thanks be to God for this miracle of life inside of me!

Feeling better...so far
So I am almost 14 weeks, and it has seemed that the 2nd trimester mark has treated me fairly well. I actually have an appetite, I can drink more than a sip of liquids, and I am able to be more sociable! I really want to go to the store and buy some yoga-type pants or something that wont look exactly like sweat pants but something I can wear to places and not look like a bum. I have one pair of jeans that don't feel uncomfortable around my waist. My pants that I wear to school are still fitting okay because they are looser than my jeans are. I still don't like wearing them. I think I have actually gained a couple of pounds in the past week rather than lose a couple of pounds...so that feels a little comforting.
Since finding out that I was prego I have lost 12 pounds. I need to weigh myself in the morning to see what I weight this week to make sure I'm not wasting away anymore. I guess it's in my genes to lose a lot of weight during pregnancy, but when I start feeling like I could be disintegrating, I would rather be gaining weight and feeling healthy.
I am taking a trip to Portland tonight...not really looking forward to the car ride. So far long car rides don't sit well with me, but after feeling a little better, I am not sure what to expect. I already have to clean a car seat due to a bag having a small hole in it...GROSS!!!
It is cool to think that there is only about 26 more weeks until the baby will be born. I am so excited that everything is going well, and from the ultrasound a couple weeks ago, everything looks fine.

13 weeks
Okay, so I guess I will start out by saying that I am not mad at anyone. My last post might sound a little strong, but I am a strong person who isn't afraid to share how I feel. Why sugar coat something? Anyone who know me, knows that I will just tell you how it is if I feel a certain way. AND this is my blog, so I can say whatever I want:)
So I am officially in the second trimester! Yay!!! I am told that the second trimester brings less or no sickness! Good thing is that today I am feeling better. I am glad that I am feeling better because I feel like a different person. I like to be outside and helping out with yardwork, and things of that sort, but I am not up to doing any of that lately. Jared is outside working on making the outside look better, and I have no way to help! Too bad for him I guess. We are planning on selling the house this summer and moving for a teaching job, but we have some cosmetic work to do. I need to go buy some pretty flowers to plant in the front yard. I also need to buy some comfortable pants to wear! I hate wearing my clothes right now! Even though no one can tell, my belly is expanding and I hate wearing jeans. Maybe I will ask Jared if we can go somewhere before dinner and buy something. I think we are going out for dinner with a couple of his teacher friends...how fun! I can never commit to anything because of feeling sick, so I hope that I continue to feel well and be able to go to dinner!
Oh, I changed some settings on here, so now anyone can leave a comment. Just sign your name at the end so I know who is leaving a message! Love you all!

Baby Names
Since this is on my mind today, I figured I would let everyone know how I feel. I have been asked recently what names we have picked out, so I have thought, "Okay, I can just tell them which names are on our list." But as I am telling people, I am getting, "Oh, I don't like that name...yada yada yada." So, today I am making the executive decision that we are no longer going to discuss names...with ANYONE! We will probably find out the sex, and I don't care if people know if we know. But no names. My cousin and his wife decided to do this because they didn't think anyone would like the name. Great idea!
This is what I think...
First: It's not your child, why do you care what the name is?
Second: It's my decision!
Third and possibly most important: Who are you to say that you don't like a name that I might LOVE! Maybe you are putting down the name that is at the top of my list! Maybe the name at the bottom of my list, but it is still on my list!
It would be different if I went to someone for advice on what they thought about the names I have chosen, but if someone wants to know what names I am thinking about, then where is the room to say you don't like a name? You can ask about the names and then say ok.
Why has this 'tradition' of putting down people's name choices lasted so long? it is ridiculous! Believe me people, this isn't even my hormones talking. I have the right to choose my childs name. If you don't like it then hold your tongue.

Just about 13 weeks
Well, The first trimester is just about over. I am feeling slightly better today than I have since a week ago...which isn't saying much because I had the flu last week! I had another Dr appt to go over the ultrasound and try to hear the heartbeat. Well she found the heart beat right away this time, so that is cool. She also gave me some suggestions for vitamins to take to help feel better, so I guess we will see if that works. I am glad that the 2nd trimester is here because I 'should' start feeling better. Let's just pray that I do! I would love to be one of those women who loves to be pregnant.
I was telling Jared that it would've been awesome to be pregnant with twins and then we could just be done! His response...you only want to have two?...I said, 'well you try being pregnant and feeling sick all the time!' Haha. He said, 'well not very pregnancy is the same. Maybe you will feel different with other pregnancies.' Silly Jared!
My Dr told me only about 28 more weeks and we can evict this baby! I said okay! Don't get my wrong, I am so glad and thankful to be pregnant, but this baby is kicking my butt! It is funny to say, but I can't wait to start gaining some weight! I am sick and tired of losing weight! I did gain .2 ounces since my Dr appt last week...lol Dr said that was better than losing weight! Haha very funny.

Ultrasound Pics!
Here is the body. I think it is looking at the 'camera'
Here are the legs. They were crossed the whole time...Just sittin' and relaxin'
Here are the arms above the head. Kind of a weird shot.

12 weeks
So, I went to the Dr on Wednesday to make sure everything was okay because I was nervous. I had lost a lot of weight from being sick, and I didn't want to wait until after Easter to be seen. So my Dr did a quick visit and tried to hear the heartbeat. She wasn't able to, so I scheduled an ultrasound and had that done yesterday. It was really cool to see the baby and be shown the heartbeat. Jared was really excited too. I don't have the picture saved on my computer yet, but I will later today, so I will have to post it when I get home. The baby was just chillin' in there with its legs crossed. It was funny. We got a picture with its arms up...maybe its a girl ready to go spike a volleyball...haha. The whole ultrasound was pretty cool, and I am glad that we were able to do it. It really helps with worries and wonders about what is going on in there. I am feeling a little better, but I still have a stuffy nose and a little bit of a cough. I am able to eat more which is really good. I can tell that my pregnancy symptoms are dying down a little because I can eat more and I want to eat more. Sometimes I have to pace myself, but I always want to eat it seems like. The nausea has kind of turned into a pain in my stomach of confusion because I don't know what I want to do. Nights continue to be the worst part of the day...the pain gets worse. The nice thing is I haven't puked since Monday, although, the past two mornings I have dry-heaved. Alright, gotta go blow my nose!

Almost 12 weeks
So...I have been sick for the past couple of days with some kind of flu. Low fever and body aches. I have also had to blow my now and sneeze a lot. I am fearful that being sick and having to blow my nose and not eating very much has not been very good for the baby. I have an appt next week on Monday, but I wish it were tomorrow so I could be assured that everything is okay. My pregnancy symptoms have been mostly hidden from being sick, so I can't tell anything. I am praying and feel confidant that God is protecting me and the baby, but there is always that nervousness about miscarraige. I have taken Tylenol to help and it did okay. Last night I didn't hardly sleep, so Jared went and got some Tylenol PM this morning and it worked well...I slept a lot of today. I am always feeling thirsty, but it is hard to quench my thirst because I can't keep it all down when I take large drinks of water. My hunger is coming back, so that is good. My diet has consisted of butterhorns (probably not too healthy, but the only thing that sounded good) and a PBJ for dinner last night. We will have to see how everything turns out. We would appreciate any prayers for good health!

11 Weeks...Blah blah blah
Okay, so I think has been the second worst week of the pregnancy! It must be my hormones leveling back out or something. I should be feeling better, like I was last week! On Monday, I could hardly keep any food down. Not fun I must say. I think Jared gets worried that I am still puking and sometimes more than one time a day. I just want to have a normal stomach again! Night-time is really bad and I usually can't eat a real dinner or have very much of one. That is probably why I am not gaining any weight. I am really trying to keep my mind on other things rather than feeling nauseas and wanting to sleep all day. It doesn't really help. I just hope that everything with the baby is safe and healthy. I wonder if I will ever love food again...haha. I know I will, but it doesn't seem like it right now.
I am almost done with the first trimester so that is exciting. I can feel the muscles and ligaments stretching out in my belly. Sometimes it feels as if I did some type of ab workout or something...obviously I didn't. I am ready for the yucky part to be over and for the 'normalness' to set in...if that ever does.
Anyhoo...did I tell everyone that I am super-duper excited to be pregnant? 'Cause I am, really, I am! Don't let me fool you too much:)

10 weeks
The past few days have been better, which is really nice! Still not perfect, but less feeling sick to my stomach all day. I have puked a little more than before but the urge only comes a little bit before I need to go to the bathroom instead of all day like before. I am glad that this week the baby is actually considered a fetus. Yay baby! Way to go!
Jared is doing well and is only getting on my nerves once in a while...haha. He is very supportive when I say that I am retiring to the bedroom for the night at 7:00. I probably haven't been the easiest person to live with, but hopefully I am not too bad. I did ban Jared from making coffee in the house, so I think he is buying it in the morning. Oh well, it is better than having to smell it and making me feel gross!
We are so blessed!

9 1/2 weeks...blah
Wow, I didn't realize how long it had been since I wrote last. I am now 9 1/2 weeks along...closer to 10 weeks though. The past couple of weeks have been worse only because puking has come into play. The good thing is that it really isn't that bad compared to other people. I don't get sick everyday, so that is nice, but the feeling of wanting to puke at any second really isn't fun. I wasn't able to hear the heartbeat last time because the Dr must've not wanted to use the doppler at that time. Darn. I thought I would've been able to do at least that because so many other people get to hear the heart beat that early. We did make an appt for the end of this month to hear the heartbeat and to check on my weight. Apparently I need to gain and not lose weight...haha. I don't think I am losing weight unhealthily though (did I just make up a word? haha). I stopped drinking pop and eating candy, so losing 2 pounds over a month isn't that bad I think.
I can tell that my stomach is pooching out a little bit, so that is cool and annoying at the same time. I have to remember which jeans fit tighter and which ones don't before I put them on. I really want to wear sweatpants all the time, or something because the pressure on my stomach area doesn't help when feeling sick! I have safety-pinned a pair of pants when they were way to tight so I could wear them and that wasn't too bad.
I can't wait for the next few weeks to go by when I will be in the second trimester. It has gone by really fast...which is a good thing!
